Jul 27, 2009 ib professional metal detectors schematics Pulse Induction Metal Detector by J. A. Corbyn This two-part article not only gives the construction details for a pulse induction metal detector, but also has a decent amount of theoretical explanantion on how the field of a PI coil and the target response behave.
Sep 01, 2016 Detecting an engine block at 30cm should not be too difficult, but reliably detecting a single small nail at 30cm may not even be possible. It probably has more to do with the design of the search coil than the actual circuit
Jan 21, 2020 The simple circuit here has demos on Google - You Tube. It barely changes the frequency even when a huge iron is place right on the coil. A real Metal Detector uses a Beat Frequency oscillator with two same-frequency oscillators but only one oscillator has the sensing coil. It is very sensitive.
Jun 30, 2010 The metal detector need to be designed for a conveyer system. The conveyer carries plastic things.. If any metals come with it, the detector should detect it. The metal may be of any sizes. The machine should take only plastics from the conveyer, any metal pieces in it will spoil its blades.
Nov 10, 2009 Metal detector circuit diagrams and projects Note that all these links are external and we cannot provide support on the circuits or offer any guarantees to their accuracy. Some circuits would be illegal to operate in most countries and others are dangerous to construct and should not be attempted by the inexperienced.

May 14, 2015 There are so many metal detector designs but most of them are complex in design so here we are going to design a simple metal detector circuit using 555 Timer IC. Before going further we need to understand concept of inductor and RLC circuits.

The circuit as shown seems to match how it's drawn. As shown, all the transistors are NPN, except for Q4. ... Oh well, it's so seldom to have an actual metal detector schematic at all. No surprise it's wrong somehow! My First Texas had all the print sanded off the chips to deter any reverse engineering. Everything was pretty much copied or ...
Aug 20, 2014 The metal detector circuit, like its name, detects metal. This happens when a piece of metal is brought close to the inductor or "choke". A piece of metal will change the circuit's choke frequency which causes the 8 0hm speaker to emit a sound.

Apr 02, 2015 This metal detector-the 'Pirate'- was originally designed by this Russian forum. It's a pulse induction (PI) type detector. basic components NE555 TL072 IRF 630 BC 547 BC557 The rest of the components are the same as in the schematic. coil 0.4-.06 diameter magnet wire 18 turns 20 cm diameter power supply test supply:two 9volt batteries in parallel
Below is the complete electronic circuit for the metal detector that we are building: Inductor L1 - The inductor L1 forms a parallel circuit with the capacitor C1 to form an LC parallel circuit. When a signal that oscillates at several KHz passes through this circuit, the signal creates an electric field around the coil.

Jul 13, 2012 What I found were forums packed with very intelligent people working on homebrew detectors, schematics, circuits, and designs with the electrical engineering knowledge to make very interesting and cost effective metal detectors. I was delighted to find several schematics for Pulse Induction, VLF, and CCO detectors on the Geotech forum.
Feb 10, 2018 In my simulations I was. But as I said, this is from the reception circuit of an operating wlakthrough metal detector. I have TX and RX circuits, but i don't have the coils. The guy that gave me this circuit didn't have the coils. So all I can do for now is to simulate and try to understand the concepts within the circuit.

Oct 01, 2014 I am starting a project on creating a metal detector for my final year end project and I am not sure where to start, I have looked into PI and BFO and lots of schematics, however printing out a PCB and fitting the components alone will not give me many grading points.

The heart of this diy metal detector circuit is the CS209A IC. The metal detector is built with one 100µH coil that has 40 mm in diameter and is made of 50 turns/0.4 mm wire. CS209A has one oscillator wich forms a LC circuit, the inductance of the coil will change when it is near metal objects.
Oct 03, 2014 This metal detector circuit is designed using three NPN transistors, IF transformer, search coil and few passive component. The metal detector circuit is basically two oscillators designed using two transistors T 1 and T 2. One oscillator is working at 455 KHz and other at a slighter lower frequency of 452 KHz.
Dec 21, 2015 bfo types require that the frequencies of the two oscilators be the same. there are no trimmer caps on that circuit to vary one to "ballance" the circuit. they work by changing the inductance of the search coil with the burried metal, changing its frequency a bit, causing a hetrodyne that is amplified by the rest of the circuit.

Our DSP based detector is different, in that it will detect the exact moment when the discharge curve goes from stage 2 to stage three. Looking at common circuits of signal processing of pulse induction metal detectors, the dampening resistor has two parallel opposite positioned diodes in series.
